Bare naked geriatric mentos
and much, much more!
I like the Bare Naked Ladies for various reasons. Quite a fan of their music..it’s catchy, fun. More importantly though, they publicly denounced other bands and record labels who insist on digital rights management schemes that severely limit what fans can do with music they have legitimately bought. And fair enough too.
They are also quick adopters of the Web, encouraging fans to upload clips to use in their video. The latest one, contains some of the big names in the YouTube community including Geriatric1927, Brookers and the Mentos/Diet Coke experimenters and so far has garnered them some 70,000 views, not to mention distribution throughout the blogosphere.
I’m a big fan of the BBC, particularly their website. It has been a great source of information and resources. Indeed, the BBC has a long and glorious past as a technological innovator. Throughout the history of broadcasting, it has often been the first to develop and promote new technologies. Sadly, it seems now to be teetering on the brink of making technical choices that will not only damage its own reputation as a world-class institution by exploring the DRM world.
